Part 1 in a retrospective of the 'Venus Series' as it was always known around our home. The first novel I read was 'A Princess of Mars' but my first series (given to me as a gift for my birthday and I still own them-poor acid riddled digest sized ACE version) was this and it has always held a special place for me. If not for these early hand me downs from my older brother I might never have explored the past, present and future through the lens of fantastic fiction.
